My name is Megan Filipowski and I am senior at Spring Arbor University. I plan to graduate in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Writing and a minor in Advertising and Public Relations.
I am originally from Dearborn, Michigan, but now reside in Milford with my mom, step-dad and younger brother.
I started writing at a very early age. At first it was lists of words, then journals and then school papers. In high school, a teacher told me that writing was something that I should strongly consider for a career. I combined my love for writing with my knowledge of sports to become a sports writer.
I am currently the editor-in-chief of Spring Arbor’s student publication, “The Pulse.” I also work as the Student Assistant Sports Information Director, where I write sports recaps for the Athletic Department.
Upon graduation, I plan to attend graduate school at the University of Indiana’s School of Journalism to obtain my Master’s Degree in Sports Journalism.
